Someone nicked my impact driver, bits, and 3 THREE three batteries out of the Land Rover yesterday. We have only realised this morning after going to get it out.
We were working no more than 10 foot away with a clear view when it was stolen, and I’m cursing my own stupidity for leaving the vehicle unlocked.
I’ve got a good idea of who it may have been. Three window cleaners came back along the street around two hours after they’d cleaned the windows, and two of them proceeded to knock on the doors of the houses either side of the garden we’re working in. The third was nowhere to be seen. Unfortunately we had our head down cutting and shaping stone, so plenty of noise to cover the sound of the door opening :(
Gutted. For the sake of all that you value, your car included, lock ya doors Oppo!

I constantly lock my car, even if I’m literally 5 feet away from it. My friend on the other hand parks his car in his driveway and leaves it unlocked all night... He leaves in a good enough neighborhood but even then I think he’s absolutely insane.

Dang, that blows. I’ll have to start locking my junk up. Tools are worth more than my car.
The impact drivers are a must. Can't live without once you have one.

Reminds me of Top Gear when Jeremy was driving the VelociRaptor and how much he loved it. But pointed out that in Britain every time you pull up to a set of lights whatever is in back will be nicked as soon as you stop.

Season 22 Episode 6. When they go to rescue Hammond in Canada. That’s the episode I was referring to.

In the province of Quebec (Canada) there is a law that requires your car doors to be locked when it is parked. Adding insult to injury: when you receive a ticket for violating this law, the police or bylaw officer that writes the ticket will put the ticket inside your car before locking the doors on your behalf.
Few things upset me to know that someone has been inside my private space without my permission, even if it’s a police officer.

I lock my car even if I am stepping out to pay for a parking meter or get gas and can see all the doors to my vehicle. People are bold and slick and will not hesitate to try to take a phone or something else of value.

I never store anything in my cars, and if I do, I store it in the trunk or hide it underneath the small spaces of my seats.
I do lock my car all the time, and never leave anything inside unattended for long periods of time.

The Land Rover is my work vehicle, so unfortunately it carries gear all the time. I can’t avoid not storing things in it during the day!
